YOUR FIRST LITTLE RECITAL

Read, then play.

Match the green highlighted note on the treble staff to a piano key. Each correct pitch moves the phrase forward. There is no timing requirement.

The five staff lines, bottom to top, are E4 G4 B4 D5 F5. The four spaces are F4 A4 C5 E5. Middle C (C4) sits on the short extra line below the staff. Every step up a line or space is the next letter. A ♯ means the black key one semitone above the written letter.

Click or tap keys, or use your keyboard. Lower octave: white keys Z X C V B N M, black keys S D G H J. Upper octave: white keys Q W E R T Y U, black keys 2 3 5 6 7. You can also focus a piano key and press Enter or Space.

Show note names gives a visual clue; Hear this note plays the target. Wrong notes affect accuracy but never move the phrase backward. Practice results save locally on this device. All six studies are always available.

Free piano mode lets you explore all 24 notes with no scoring. Browser sound begins after your first key press. Sound can be muted. This is a pitch-reading exercise, not a test of rhythm or piano technique.

ROOTS & CREDITS

A piano, reimagined.

Keyboard mapping, note identifiers and input-handling behavior adapted from Piano Keyboard by Felipe Fialho, MIT, commit f0ebc0fe (October 9, 2026). Observed 347 GitHub stars.

This independent adaptation adds six original note-reading studies, a new responsive interface, local scores and progress, exact-frequency Web Audio synthesis and a GPT-generated conservatory background. It does not reuse upstream samples or fonts.
